Are there eco-friendly model aircraft engines (by Stephenem)

Does anyone no if there are model aircraft engines that don't polute the air like the conventional model aircraft engines. Are there model aircraft engines that use ethanol as fuel?

Model aircraft fuel (Glow-fuel) is primarily
comprised of Methanol and oil.
Methanol is the "fuel" and the oil is
simply a lubricant. Many fuels also
contain Nitromethane which is a
power ingredient.
Additionally there may be other
ingredients in the fuel such as
detergents or agents to help the nitro
mix into the alcohol.
Traditionally the oil in fuel has been
Castor oil. Castor will tolerate very
lean mixes well and help protect your
engine. However, castor is more
difficult to clean from the exterior of
the model.
As far as I know, no one is currently making model aircraft fuel using Ethanol.

@Hawkeye58: thank you sir for the detailed explanation, God bless. Is it possible to adapt the model aircraft glow fuel engine to use ethanol just as they now do to full size aircraft engines in Brazil? There are aircraft engines that use both ethanol & conventional fuel in Brazil today

Actually, unless your engine is using a
Walbro or similar
carburetor, there is no problem.
Ethanol damages the flapper valves
and diaphragm. Overhaul kits are
available that can tolerate ethanol.
