So terribly different... (by IrishLove1988)
Sometimes, it just blows my mind how 2 people can grow up in the same household, with the same parent(s) and yet turn out so terribly different. My brother and I used to be really close as children. Now, as adults, he has grown into someone I don't recognize. Has anyone else ever had any experience with this?
ive got 2 older bros n a younger sis we all completely different n grew up the same way
I don't mean just general differences though... I mean like we both view our childhood, and our mother (who raised us alone) very differently. Where as I value honesty loyalty and compassion, he is a compulsive liar, a HEAVY drug addict, physically abusive (to his wife AND his 2 oldest step-sons). I just don't understand...
@IrishLove1988: it's the same way with both of my brothers :/
I mean this too. we all view how things happened and our parents differently. and it has impacted how we view and do things vastly
I have a sis 22 mnths younger and anyone visiting with the two of us wld most definately assume we were raised in seperate homes....we do not remember ANYTHING the same
I just wonder what happened that set us on 2 completely different paths... I don't even know who he is anymore. It breaks my heart :(
@IrishLove1988: it is hard, me and my dad still dont see eye to eye for many, many reasons, im setting out on a different path to him, hope this helps in some way to chat about it :)
@James: Oh boy lol My relationship, or lack there of, with my father is a whole other kettle of fish. It just hurts me to see the way it effects my mom that my brother acts the way he does especially towards her.
