Former bridesmaid (26F) didn?t ask me (26F) to be in wedding party. Feeling hurt after an awkward comment.
TLDR: feeling hurt after a good friend didn?t include me in her wedding party despite her being in my wedding not too long ago
Hi all, not sure why I?m posting this, I think I?m just in my feelings. Ultimately I know it?s my friend?s day and I will be happy to attend as a guest.
A year and a half ago I had a close friend (to both my husband and myself) as a bridesmaid - I had 3 total bridesmaids.
She got engaged recently, and at her engagement party she made a comment to me about how she would be having a ?smaller? wedding party. I immediately, and correctly, took that as a sign that I wouldn?t be included. I was hurt, but now I feel even more offense as I learned that she is having 8 bridesmaids which in my opinion isn?t small. I feel like if she hadn?t made a comment to me, I wouldn?t be overthinking as much.
I think I need to focus my energy on other friendships, but it just sucks :-/ Wondering if anyone can relate.
