ELI5: How would nuclear fusion reactors actually produce electricity?
From my poor understanding of how nuclear fission reactors work, the process of fission creates heat to evaporate water that then spins turbines. So wouldn't nuclear fusion and its 150,000,000?C temperatures be overkill to heat up water? Obviously there would have to be another process to convert it into electricity. They say this process is supposed to be able to power the world but I can't find a clear & concise answer on what exactly would happen in a nuclear fusion reactor to create absurd amounts of electricity.
Basically what I'm saying is: Sure nuclear fusion produces a lot of energy, but how would that energy become electricity?
