I Work At A Library And Something Is Terribly Wrong
I know what you?re thinking. What could possibly be wrong at a library? Did they run out of space for books? Or worse, did they lose a book!? Nope and nope.
For starters, this particular library isn?t like any other library I?ve ever been to. It looks normal from the outside, but what resides inside is far from that.
Let?s begin with the books, because well, it?s a library.
We have every kind of book you could possibly imagine. From books about termites to books about how to build a treehouse. Or books about how to get rid of termites from your treehouse. Anything and everything. You name it, we have it.
But the types of books we have start to get a little odd once you dig a little too deep for that Harry Potter book you so desperately wanted. We don?t tend to read every title of a book when looking for a particular one. Maybe skim over the titles or covers in general.
But if you ever happen to read every title of every book on that shelf, you?ll notice that some of these titles you?ve never heard of. Which isn?t bizarre since there are too many books to know every title. What is bizarre, is that you won?t be able to find it anywhere else, but here.
That book you saw on how to cook your meat perfectly, is only here and nowhere else. What?s so special about this book, you may ask. Well it?s what happens when you read the book that?s so special. That book you just read about cooking is pretty good right? That food you just made taste even better, doesn?t it? Weird. You don?t remember making it, do you? Don?t remember eating it either, huh?
How about your family? Do they remember eating the food? Well of course they do silly. They didn?t read the book. They may even comment on how odd you?re behavior was that night. How you may have behaved like someone completely different.
I?ve worked here for eight years. From fifteen to twenty-three. I know what books you should read, and shouldn?t. Books like Justine and Her Friends aren?t the type a normal person would read. Nobody should read that. For your own sake, and those around you. What happened in 2001 should never repeat itself. Never. We all have scars to prove it. Even books about home interiors could go south real fast. That comment the book had about furry creatures with razor sharp teeth and claws coming out of your walls if you don?t sandpaper right, isn?t meant to be taken lightly. To be completely honest, I didn?t even know sandpapering a wall was a thing.
Or our knock off version of three little pigs. I?ll never forget what that book did to those little kids. The employee didn?t know. How could he know that what he read was going to come true.
Now you may ask, ?Okay what exactly has gone terribly wrong?? Well it?s about the books that should never be read. This book in particular, The Night Will Come, is about demons and the haunting of several ghost children. And how they killed everyone they could.
A young woman came in around 9 am to borrow a book. She asked me where the horror and thriller books were, which I showed her. Not after asking her if she would rather read something more lighthearted of course. On the way there, I silently hoped she wouldn?t see The Night Will Come.
After a while I took a break and forgot all about the girl and the book. That was my first mistake. I assumed she had left already when I was making sure no one was left at the back of the library at closing time. That was my second mistake. I should have looked for her much sooner. But no. There she was. Sitting at the furthest table reading a book. Surprised she was still here, I quickly made my way over to her only to see her close the book.
I stop dead in my tracks and stared wide eyed at her.
She looked at me and smiled before looking around her.
?Oh I?m sorry, is it closing time already? The Night Will Come was just to interesting to put down, I just had to read it all.?
As she stood up, the lights above us started to flicker.
?Oh no,? I whispered. ?They?re here.?
?Did you say ?they?re here?? Whose they??
?Them,? I say as I point a shaky finger to the window behind her.
As she turns around and looked, she let out a scream of terror as she sees the little girl with empty eye sockets? reflection.
I knew in that moment, that this was going to be a long night.

What was written above is what I had found in an abandoned library. My friends and I heard that it was haunted and wanted to check it out.
We went and explored and found nothing interesting, really. Mostly burned books and furniture. The place had gone up in flames killing everyone inside years ago. It is said that the fire isn?t what killed the people though. Something else did, and now I?m starting to believe that.
I had went into what I think was the break room by myself and found a journal in the far back corner. Written inside was the writing above dating back to 2006. I don?t understand how this journal survived but it did. It was also written as if it was gonna be published.
There are so many more journal entries with crazy stories inside that seem unbelievable. I had only gone to that library once as a child and never again after a pig incident. I don?t remember much about it, only that there was a lot of blood.
If you guys liked to hear more, let me know. The person writing the journal sure left some crazy stories behind. Wonder who it was.
