Experts cannot agree why the rabbit's foot has become synonymous with good luck. The superstition that a front paw—or a hind paw— of a rabbit can bring good fortune is so old that its origins are lost in the mists of time. While it may be forgotten exactly why the furry little foot is lucky, the rabbit's foot remains one of the most common of good-luck charms throughout Europe and North America.

The Romans believed that your good health was renewed every 7 years so if u cld stay healthy for 7 yrs at a time u wld live forever. They invented glass mirrors but believed to look at one meant giving it part of your soul so if the mirror were broken it wld literally cause u bad health, or luck. Therfore if you broke a mirror you had bad luck/health for 7 yrs......amazing what traitions have trickled down thru time huh?

As a previous poster stated, the rabbits foot superstition is an old one, dating back to before 600 b.c. A rabbit was considered to be a fertile animal so carrying the foot meant u would be lucky and have many children. I guess a rabbits head wouldve worked also lol

Me tooo thats why modern religion fascinates me too, so much incorporated into "christianity" is just superstition and folklore, yet sacred belief to this day

Like friday the thirteenth, i thought that had to do with unlucky 13 but i guess there was an attack on the templar knights on that day that started torture and death of hundreds
