NEW ACHIEVEMENT: Earn 10 Cupid Credits when you are the FIRST TO CONTACT a new member! (by Andres)

Hi Folks,

To give everyone an incentive to contact new members and make them feel welcome to Dating.mobi, I've added a new Achivevement called "First Contact".

Basically, the first person to contact a new member in the first 24 hours will be rewarded with 10 FREE Cupid Credits!

This is a very easy way to earn some free Cupid Credits while helping new members settle in and feel welcome.

So any time you see that someone has joined Dating.mobi on the Online Activity Feed, shoot them a quick message to welcome them and unlock this Achievement and win your reward! Just hurry to make sure you're the first!

If I notice that people are just sending one-word message like "Hello", then I may put a minimum word limit for it to count as I want new members to actually feel welcome with substance, not just a one-worder! So make sure to write some substance!

What are you waiting for? Go welcome some newbies and see if you've won!

Have fun!

@Andres:

I do have a question, will people still get the Cupid Credits even if the new members don't reply?

Yes! As long as you're the first, you'll get automatically rewarded the moment you hit the "send" button and a new Status Message will let you know at the top. If you don't get rewarded, then it means you weren't the first one and have to be quicker next time!

Depending on how this goes, I may add some additional criteria, such as having to write a lengthier message, having to be of the gender the new member is seeking. etc.

But for now I wanted to keep it as simple as possible just to see how it goes since I can always tweak it later.

I have been doing this alot the past few days. The only problem i foresee is people thinking you are a creep for messaging so rapidly on a dating site. Most i have messaged haven't replied, which could mean i freaked them out and seem like a scammer lol. But one that has replied was semi nasty...but i guess with me messaging first, he assumed it was ok. So this is a double edge sword. But i will continue to welcome newbies cause i think the idea of it is great.

@Andres: Question...is this feature, as well as other ways to get Cupid credits, meant for everyone, or just fully verified users?
I ask because I just saw in the activity feed, a "user" who is an obvious scammer (fake, unverified, pic that is all over Google Image search) receive credits for making first contact.

@Andres: I'd loved to welcome new members,
I'd loved to send sweet birthday messages to members celebrating but their contact restrictions keep becoming issues.
But most importantly, my phone number has not been confirmed after many attempts.
Thanks.
