I am curious - I often see pictures of things, space rockets, soldiers, and other things that have the stars and stripes on them. but often they are (to me) back to front. i.e the stars are top right corner. can someone please tell me why this is?

@mrsienna: it may be the effect of thing you've been drinking or the picture may be a mirror image !

@Singhpk: haha! but no - i have alwways been able to read the name tags on the images of service personnel, and other information around different images.

All has to do with how the flag is displayed
The stars are always held in the highest regard so they are always faced to the front....which is why the flag seems reversed on the right shoulder of uniforms.
Same with moving objects....stars to the front...never the rear....on the right side.
