Welfare do we really need it? (by leegale)
No. The government needs to create more jobs, and people should stop being lazy and search for a job
@Cbguy: your so right walfar is truning this country into a 3rd world country
Everyone needs help once in awhile. As a safety net to help u back up. When it is all u know and becomes a lifestyle is not good thing becuz then u dont put anything back in. A hand up is awesome. A handout is not.
I am on welfare for foodstamps only and i cant work due to disabilities and im waiting for ssi. If i didnt have them my children would go hungry
@Acire73: well thats whats it was supost to be but like you said ppl an't trying to find a job why when the goverment will give them anything thay want. why? cause its the american tax payers paying for it ALL what happens when we stop paying taxes then what? you get ****ed for not paying your taxes even more if you own a small buss.
Ive known a few ppl that have been on welfare, n the gov does need 2 create more jobs, but, the country does need welfare, the welfare system just needs a complete reform, as it is now, ppl who want welfare can learn the game n live 4 free off it, but many who need it have a hard time getting ne help, its completely backwards, but, the ppl ive seen whove needed it, have only been on it a few months bfor they found a job, so, its needed...
Welfare is the goverment jobs! Dont u all get it? WE need to create the jobs!! What the goverment needs to do is pentlize companies for moving out of the USA!!! REPEAL THE FREE TRADE ACT!
There are definitely people that need it but as an earlier post stated, it needs to be reformed. Don't see it happening tho...the current welfare system has created a huge voter base for a certain political party. Can u guess which one? ;) On top of that, its also created an entitlement mindset....and we've pretty much lost our work ethic.
Not everyone receiving welfare actually need it. Yes, there are some lazy folks out there who take advantage of the system. But there are also people who are, for whatever reason, unable to work or just can't find work. There are people with families whose children would have nothing much to eat without welfare. But I do strongly agree that more jobs need to be made available. Some Americans have slacked in their work ethic, in comparison to our parents, grandparents and great-grandparents etc. Hopefully we'll make some major progress with that.
