Ok so its been a hard year for my son and I, so the first wkend in Sept im gonna try to take him on a mini vacation. We've been to Disney World and this trip wont be anything like that. I need a nice low budget vacation that a 16 yr old boy would enjoy. First he wanted the beach or a water park but everything will be closing and end of season for that, so he mentioned amusement parks. We are thinking abt Cedar Point, anyone have any ideas? Im up for any and all suggestions. Remember pocket friendly but cool :) Thanks.

Cedar Point is the best amusement part ever... Thats a great idea & even better if you can take 1 of his friends.

@beautifullybroken I am in west TN between Memphis and Nashville. Travel isnt really an issue but cant go to Cali or anything lol. We have been to Gatlinburg a hundred times, i love it but he probably wants something different, so any ideas? @April So u've been to Cedar Point? His dad is from Mich and went a long time ago and loved it, i was gonna take my son when he was younger but he wasnt tall enough to ride the big rollor coaster, he is now....definently lol. Is there any other attractions around that area?

Beaches will still be open on the Gulf Coast. Actually, motel rates shud be pretty decent that time of the year. Look at Biloxi and east ovr into Bama.
