@james85: Its not even $300,000 James....here, that wld be taxed at %39.3 by the federal govt...plus any applicable state taxes. One wld be lucky to keep a lil over half the $300,000. Curious as to N Ireland tax rates.

Let me just add this..someone who works hard and makes it a goal to one day make a million dollars....will immediately have $400,000 taken away from that $1,000,000.....the new 'Muricuh! Punish success. < period.

There is so much out there on the disappearance & destruction of the middle class.. And the "new poor"... And fewer & fewer " land owners", that are actually American.
It's incredible. And just plain disturbing.
