Price of Living (by resa2424)

People say it feels like a knife in your heart when someone you trust hurts you. But it's more then that. In the first moment you realize the lies you have that moment of unreality, uncertainty, but eventually your thought process catches up to you and you believe. Just for a split moment you don't breathe because to take that next breath is to move on to the next moment. That next space in time where so many thoughts are running through your head that you don't know what to do, you don't know that there is anything to do. That breath that you took becomes constricted, as if someone has reached inside and is clutching your lungs just tight enough for you to breathe inch by inch but not enough for that full breath. Then the pain starts, but to me it's like needles. A thousand little pinpricks descending on that vital muscle making you believe it will never end. It gets worse before it gets better. Eventually you learn to tuck that moment into a safe place where it won't surface. You move on, and if that point in time isn't as colorful as it once was that's the price of living. Happiness requires sacrifice. You have to be willing to give something for the moments you cherish.
