I have a 10 years old daughter & she has no mobile phone even there are times that her friends pressurizing her to have one. I don't like seeing children walking like a mindless zombie, heads down & fingers busy typing.

I wanted to hear some views of other parents here

I didnt get my children a cell phone until they were about 12, at that age they were doing more activities away from home, field trips, going on Church trips, etc so i wanted to be able to reach them and them reach me or 911 if needed. Alot of things could happen to where a child mite need to call for help

I havent got one for mine. I told my son twelve or thirteen. But he has to quit getting kicked out of school and star showing some responsibilities. The way its going might be fourteen.

Thanks guys. Just the other day here, a child was injured because she crossed the street without looking. She was hit by a car and luckily survived.

Your input will help me weigh things for that matter.

I might allow it, but there would be very, very strict rules governing its use, and the very first time one of the rules were broken, that would be the end of the phone!

Until now , my daughter doesn't have a cell phone . I decided it would be better if she'll have it when she'll be in high school ( which will be next year ) . I talked and told her the many consequences of having one in her very young age & glad she understand it but in exchange of giving her additional 2 hours of playing computer games during Saturdays ..
