I personally just don't like it. It's especially annoying when men do it, and they don't even know me lol. I don't know, what y'all think? And guys, feel free to post your opinions as well :)

I always introduce my name and requested to address me on my first name and failed to do so , I lost interest BUT if I am in a relationship, I always like to have a unique bitter-sweet name. It brings butterfly to my senses :D
Well this might be a southern thing but i know i call lot of women sweetie buttercup sunshine lil thing like that. but i only use baby for the girl in dateing or with with
I agree with rainbow it should be unique to me not baby or hun or anything u already said to an ex. Makes me feel generic
I dont do it to strangers and after i get to know a woman i will normally give her a pet name that is designed to her personaly
yes, that's exactly how i feel :D
I agree with bigtrucker abt it being a southern thang (excuse my accent plz lol ) If u spend a day in town here, you'll probably hear more 'honeys', 'sweeties', and 'darlins' than u can stand. Its kind of ingrained in mosts guys here and we mean nutn by it darlin ;-) Sorry, cudnt help myself there lol
Well i like it when my supafreak calls me pechocha....lol. but generally i feel like sweetie and darlin and honey are generic and fake....terms of endearment should be meant as such...i only find the personal ones that are just between him and me to be the ones that are real

@brats52005: i agree with u....comin from just any random man makes it just some guy tryin to sweet talk a girl....but from my man....its the sweetest talk ever for real tho
