Than feeling more heartache and pain........losing someone because your family won't ever accept someone who is a different race or from another state or met online.......I give up

same thing happened with my first real girlfriend our families got in the way one important lesson i have le arned do what makes u happy and ur the one dating the person not ur fam. i agree brite. Now its too late she passed away and ill never know what mite have happened if only i stood up toour families .

You guys are all right and I agree as well but it hurts when the other person walks away becuz they r not strong enough

do what makes you happy. ur in the relatinship with the guy, not ur family. age race living situatiions shouldnt matterif you truely have feelings for one another. ur family will eventualy come around because they will see that ur doing what makes u happy and what is best for you, and if they dont then still do what makes you happy. ur the one that is going to have to live with ur decisions and they dont have to approve of them but it would be nice for them to respect you for the decisions you make.

I pretty much lost my family for that reason. They didn't like who I was with and disowned me basically. I chose to stay with her and eventually moved from Utah all the way to Florida. If your family can't accept your choices on who you want to be with that is their mistake.

Maybe he left because he might've felt like he was coming second to your family.. You're a grown Woman, be responsible for your own liffe & happiness..

maybe don't share all the details so not to put him on the spot or feel as tho u are having to choose between him and ur family.
