Return Of The Problem (by bluenight7)
I noticed that those who got banned for causing problems like trolling, bashing or anything will delete their profile and make a new one. Are they still banned from forums or are they free from being banned? I saw a couple of people so far banned, delete their profile and create a new one. Andres, I'm looking forward for your response and your solution. Thank you.
If they delete their profile they r free to open a new account....a permanent ban means they r no longer welcome here....temporary ban is only for a day or so
@Briteeyes1211: That's not the answer I was looking for. Not trying to be rude. The individual was banned. The individual then deleted her profile and create a new one. Now she is free and write stuff on forums..
If u know for a fact its someone that has been banned u should report it to Andres in a pm and he will check into it. A banned member is not allowed to re-open an account, Andres will ban that account too.
@Briteeyes1211: Hey i appreciate your Help Briteeyes... You are good to me.. Im looking forward to that..
@bluenight7: Don't worry, since aufi02 circumvented the process and created a new acct, I'm sure Andres will increase the length of her ban, and maybe even make it permanent.
The are two different types of bans: temporary bans and permanent bans. Unfortunately, the Forum script we use does not differentiate between the two (although I'm still looking at ways of forcing that differentiation), so it can sometimes be confusing.
Once a user has been permanently banned from the site, they are "persona non grata" here and will not be allowed to have another account ever again. Of course, some try to circumvent this, but they are just wasting their time because they are eventually found and we ban them again, and again, and however many times is necessary, which makes it impractical for them to find any kind of meaningful relationship on here, so they eventually give up.
Temp bans, on the other hand, only apply to the Forums, and result from infractions handed out for breaking the Forum rules. They start small (one-day ban) and increment from there on subsequent temp bans. If a user tries to circumvent their temp ban once by creating a new account, we simply apply a longer temp ban to their new account, so that there is no incentive to do that. However, if they try to circumvent it like that again, then we permanently ban them. The reason I wouldn't want to permanently ban them on the first circumvention is because sometimes users delete and re-open an account for other reasons (e.g. to change their username), so I like to give them the benefit of the doubt and a second chance.
I hope that clarifies it.
