Hey guys. This is my second day here and must say an enjoying my stay. I just would like to point out a few things that i feel would contribute to the improvement of this service and make it much more attractive. The first thing is concerning the forums. Threads die out to quickly. If you browse through the threads you'll find similiar to identical thread topics being asked or introduced. It is cool that we can make a thread for whatever reason we see fit. But i think that we are taking it for granted seeing that there are threads that our queries or statement would fit right into. This would save us time and keep this site more organised. A solution to this could be to limit the amount of posts a user can create within a week or month, and introduce a live chatroom where we could choose to be online or offline for all those people who create threads because they are bored or need entertainment or just looking for a conversation. They could just enter the live chatroom where there would be other people who'd want to chat and talk away without having to create a thread that will just end up dead in a hour or two and clutter the place. Thanks for listening. Sorry for the bad english, i'm still half asleep.

The problem is that sometimes a thread on the same topic can go in a completely new direction due to the new users participating in it, so while in principle I agree that it would make "sense" for all the posts of a specific topic to focus in one thread, in practice, that is difficult (since some threads are sometimes buried deep in the Forums) and continuing an existing thread might not lead to the divergent views and opinions and directions we get when new threads are created. So it's a tough one, tough to implement, and the benefits aren't necessarily what they seem.

A solution to this could be to limit the amount of posts a user can create within a week or month,
I'm against limiting any kind of discussion in the Forums because it would stifle activity and opinions. I rather the Forums be unlimited and suffer through the repetitive "I'm bored, hmu" threads, than to limit all new posters and end up with a stale and less active Forum overall. So the direction I'm going with this is to try to be as open and accepting of almost any and all kinds of posts and threads, but at the same time keeping things separate by creating specific Forums for them, while giving upcoming Premium users the ability to filter out any Forum so that they can reduce the "noise" and focus on the discussions that most interest them.

and introduce a live chatroom where we could choose to be online or offline for all those people who create threads because they are bored or need entertainment or just looking for a conversation. They could just enter the live chatroom where there would be other people who'd want to chat and talk away without having to create a thread that will just end up dead in a hour or two and clutter the place.
I don't think chatrooms are a viable solution. I've witnessed dating-based public chatrooms and they are a complete mess. They are impossible to moderate, the discussions are the lowest-common denominator of human thought and intent, no one worries about consequences since chatroom posts don't stick around forever (unlike Forum posts), and they offer very little in the way of real "dating" opportunities since they often end up in flame wars where the men try to one-up each other to impress the ladies. Forums, on the other hand, have a much slower pace that allows members to gather their thoughts before posting, which creates far more interesting discussions, and since everything that is said can't be changed or removed, it not only makes moderating Forums a lot easier, but it also makes users think twice before being rude and disrespectful since that will follow them around forever.

Thanks for listening. Sorry for the bad english, i'm still half asleep.
I like the way you provide detailed suggestions and I hope you will continue to provide ideas to helps us improve and grow! Thanks and welcome aboard!

Hey. Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate you explaining yourself. I understand where you are coming from, and can see where you are going with this. You've mentioned about the upcoming premium membership that can filter out unwanted topics or threads. I think that would be a good solution to some of the things that i brought up too. And it would still keep the forum in it's original condition for everyone else. So thats a great idea.
thanks once again for your response. :-)
