Forum participation suggestion (by MrWalkSoftly)
Just an idea I saw was present on a local sports forum.....
Achievements for forum participation....by number of posts.
Award Cupid credits, roses, certain gifts to give, etc ....for certain number of posts thresholds. Like say, your 1000th post gets you 25 Cupid Credits or whatever the case my be.
Maybe it would entice new users to post and stay longer.....fully verified ones of course.
Just throwing out ideas as they come to me or I see them lol

And perhaps, in the future, the forums (and site) could benefit from the latest undertaking dealing with site searches on Google by adding the forums separately to their own search...
Mobile dating forums
Mobile sex forums
Mobile political forums
Mobile sports forums
Mobile whatever forum sections Dating.mobi has
...for example.
Perhaps the site could benefit from busier forums as the forums benefit from a busier site, so to speak.

Anything to help build participation is a good idea.
@Critter1211: It's kinda funny....I saw that post achievements thing on a local sports site....actually saw a thread titled "I got my 30,000 post privilege" or something like that, and immediately got the idea for post achievements for Dating.mobi.
I then went back to read the original thread and the guy was trolling, there weren't any post achievements
Still a good idea though lol

@MrWalkSoftly: sounds like a good idea to me
Yrs, ago I was on mocospace ,com it was at the time a really. Good chat sight, met alot of good online friends, they had mock gold you could get for playing games or what ever, but the Maine reason people were on there was to chat and make new online friends or like mad, something to past the nights away, I agree with walking softly the forms should be sports, friendship, sex, or what ever, have a separate. Room for each topic, that way you don't come on here and its the same old same old stuff, that as a new and still not sure member that s the only down side to this site, its hard to get the word out with so many chat sites out there but I know this ones been around along time,so when I was looking online to see what's out there and saw this place,,,, oh ya I ember that sight, so all the ones that left mocos are still out there, maybe try adds on TV or the radio? Like e harmony does or match.com ? Im sure there's alot of board people. Out there that would like to join.
All the women participants get my phone number
Yes, I can definitely add this to the upcoming Achievements!
Yup, a couple of weeks ago I added a link to our Forums on the site homepage for unregistered users (what Google would see) using the anchor text "Dating Forums" to start ranking highly for that. That link juice will flow from our highest-ranked page (our homepage) directly into our main forums page, which will then spread the link juice to all the different sections, sub-forums, threads, and posts to start ranking higher for them in relevant searches. But just like with the network of millions of pages that I added for all the different site variations, this too will take a while to take effect, but once Google has indexed our Forums from our homepage and re-ranked them, it should start bringing in more traffic as well.
Thanks for the suggestions and ideas and please keep them coming!
P.S. I just fixed the issue we were having with the Birthday E-mails. I had to pass all our 250,000+ user e-mail addresses through an expensive verification service which confirmed that a whopping 1 out of every 3 e-mail addresses are no longer valid. So I've flagged the invalid e-mails and have restarted the Happy Birthday hourly e-mails to start bringing more old users back. Since we're no longer sending e-mails to invalid e-mail addresses, we shouldn't get any more complaints from our E-mail Provider about bounced e-mails. Needless to say, I need to start forcing the verification of e-mail addresses so that this doesn't happen again.

@Andres: verified emails is a good way to help prove someone is real too
