Man....crap! I'm having to cook these beans with NO SMOKED MEAT lol. What am I going to do? :/

No bacon either! And that's usually what I run to next lol. I couldn't get to the place I buy my smoked meats from today. :( So I'm using chicken broth, onions, garlic etc., bay leaves, some other seasonings and spices. They smell wonderful so far lol, so we'll see.

You can use onion. Or Workshire sauce. Garlic or spices you like. But you can use enough meat to flavor but not enough. But tastse to your satisfaction. You can add potatos and other stuff.

@brats52005: Thank you for the advice. :) Honestly, I can put the whole cabinet and kitchen sink in there, but there's absolutely nothing to substitute for that rich, delicious, fatty, smoked meat flavor :( lol

Believe it or not, I always save all bacon fat for jus such an emergency lol. Pour it n a mason jar n keep it in the fridge:)

@MrRamtasticAkaRam318: My grandma stores her fish grease and chicken grease lol. Last time I was down there, I think I did actually see some white waxy stuff that smelled....pork-ish? Lol, I'm guessing it was bacon fat O_O

@alynn: lol I'm sure it was. Put a teaspoon of that in ANYTHING n it makes it better;-)
