What are your true thoughts on interracial relationships? (by sweeterthejuic3)

Do you think people should "stick with their own kind?" What about bringing interracial children into the world? Would your family be supportive of you bringing home someone of another ethnicity?

Todays world is so much different than maybe a few years back. I know people that would still be hung up if they dated outside the race. I look at 3 things. How they look. How they act. And how they treat others. I personally wouldn't care what race they were as long as we both were making efforts to make our relationship work. No matter the circumstances.

My mama's sister married a black man in the 60's. They burned a cross in her yard. My step dad was very racist-to the point of not allowing my Aunt and my cousins in our home, and he would whoop us if he caught us watchin a program on t.v w black people in it:( But when he went to work my mama let us watch our shows, and my cousins got to come over and play:) I had to choose who seemed more reasonable before I was ten years old...through the eyes of a child:) I raised my children the way I knew was right in my heart:) I have five beautiful grandbabies-and I mean B-E-A-utiful!! Two are blond haired, blue eyed, w skin white as snow- and three are dark haired, brown eyed, w caramel color skin...they all are total blessings from God above. I cant imagine my life without my babies! So for those that say mixing races is wrong-I give you my pov: All my babies love me the same cuz Mimi loves them the same-a child is a child-and they also grow up to be people in this world who can make a difference about how people see things:)Mine will make a difference because their lives are filled w white and black people who love each other regardless of their race:)

@sammytoo...Bravo! Maam, I love that. You sorrounded by heavenly treaures(kids).I believe racism to be a thing of the past and it should be discouraged especially, among kids cz a kid who others isolate thereselves from cz of color of skin, ethnicity and all that is bound to be affected psychologically.I was like wtf! When my cousins came back for xmas and the youngest asked me if it is really true that africaans are thieves..omg!

Racism is not a thing of the past. Someone at my job was called a stupid n*gger by a customer a few months ago. I think people that are ignorant are just a little more hesitant. It has however, become an old way of thinking. But my best friend recently ended his first interracial relationship because his gf's dad called her a stupid b.itch and told her not to call him; basically disowning her because my bestie is black. He couldn't get serious with her knowing that her family disapproved of him b/c of his skin color.

@sammytoo: You not wrong if you says its not a thing of the past.Children are been raised believeing thats its something that must be done thereby isolating themselves from the kid(s) with different body color
