Got a question (by Donnie1987)
Most of y'all who know me know I work with people with developmental disabilities(formerly known as mental retardation) well last night we had one pass witch im not persay sad due to the gentleman was 55 with downs witch is a ripe old age with some one with downs and he was sufferin with dementia well my other clients are perdy torn up over it and im doin best to console them but am lost fer words on how to be gentle and not super blunt so I don't up set any more of my individuals than what they already are if their is any one who has done this type of work what was your best way of consoling your clients
I actually had two clients who were best buddies-one passed:( We went to Bufords grave and put a pokemon figure on it-thats what Robert wanted him to have:) You cant really talk religion w them unless they have made it known that they believe-so the ones that def believe can be told that he went to Heaven:)
@SammyToo: thank you ive been doing my best just a whole new experience especially when they ask me why I m not sad
@Donnie1987: I totally get why youre not sad-my client had severe retardation, diabetes, cancer and pica:( I believe he got a new body and his mind is clear now:):)
