Its Twinkie Burger Time! (by WalkSoftly)
"" A restaurant in Philadelphia is taking fried
food to the next level, adding a Deep-Fried
Twinkie Burger to the sweet and savory mix.
PYT Burger and Bar debuted the indulgent
sandwich Tuesday, and news of the hybrid
creation formed a line outside the restaurant
before it opened, co-owner Sarah Brown told
the Daily News.
"It's a really cool combination of salty and
sweet. It's surprisingly very good," Brown
said of the novelty, which came to life when
a friend and restaurant regular brought in
some Twinkies. "It is very rich, though."
The buns are funnel cake-battered Twinkies,
and the patty is a blend of pork belly and
beef topped with American cheese and
applewood smoked bacon
It's not the first time PYT has won attention
for its crazy burgers. In addition to regular
menu items like the Doh! Nut, which has
chocolate-covered bacon and a doughnut
bun, the restaurant runs weekly specials
that once got a shout-out on “Saturday
Night Live.” Last year, the show gave a nod
to a Bacon Taco Burger, which comes with
a “taco shell” made of bacon, sending
customers in from as far away as Wisconsin
and Canada to try one, Brown said.
The Twinkie burger will remain on the menu
through Tuesday — and possibly longer —
as PYT gauges demand, Brown said."" Link.
