I was in college when it happened. then latter i got a call from my fire dept chief telling me that our dept was going up to help the city. i lost 2 good friends.

@sweetmel: I really don't care about your explanation, especially after it became apparent what this thread was about, and you continued with your ridiculously callous attitude. I even expressed sympathy with your own nation going through similar attacks, and you were just as callous about those.

Your own nation is certainly no stranger to terrorism, and yet you don't appear to be concerned about it.

What department were you with? I grew up just outside the city, and lost friends as well.

@OneWitWonder: i spent 2 weeks up there. the team i was on never went to the site but helped cover other calls. the other 2 teams went to the towers.

There are many places in the world where the news is censored and there is very little knowledge gained by the countries citizens. it is very much that way in Muslim countries and even in parts of Europe. Even when you have internet many of the web sites are blocked and inaccessible. They tell you what they want you to know. I'm not trying to make excuses for anybody on here but it is not impossible that some people have no idea what 9/11 is or what happened on that dark day in history
