Not for nothing...but there's plenty of us workers that have zero to do with anything military. Labor Day is about us unnamed hardhat wearing, 12 hour shifting, underpaid, overworked (and not just hardhat wearing) jackwagons that actually work for a living.

So for all of us...the waitress that just spent 10 hours busting her @ss with a smile one her face...

...the greenhorn with blisters on his feet trying to break in a new pair of steel toes..

...the welder that has forgotten more than his replacement just out of tradeschool will ever know...

...the landscaper that knows that just because it's hot outside, you don't get to puss out..

...to us, the lads and ladies that know what earning a paycheck, not just collecting it, means...

Labor Day is about recognizing all that you've done, the things no one else wants to do, the thankless tasks that pay the bills. Well done, all of you.

To me it applied in my mind, as there are plenty of medial blue collar workers that are iron workers, gun smiths on down the line, even to the folks that work for the scrap yards, heck even the scrappers that are job less that sell lawfully gained scrap metal apply to put a meal on the table and make ends meet, etc. . :)
