Basically the gun is made for one purpose: to KILL! So, more guns, more killings; and less guns, less killings.

@folu: Guns do not kill people, people kill people...& they/we always will. We have the right in MY COUNTRY, to buy, own & carry weapons. If we didn't then only the rich, powerful or other inside/outside force would have them & all the control.... And another revolution would be happening. Or we would be defending ourselves against some form or military/terrorism.. Freedom, must not be lost or dictated .

your dead right . Look at my country for example where most guns are very illegal and very hard to come by and as a consequence the gun murder rate is fairly low at only about 20 per year . And nearly every one of them murders are drug dealers shooting drug dealers and gangsters shooting gangsters . But i'd dread to think what the murder rate would be if everybody was carrying a guns

Heres the thing, the people who get guns illegaly will always get gones and by banning guns, ur taking away guns from the innocent, ur taking away guns from people who can protect them selves. Id rather shoot a robber tryin to rob a bank while im trying to get my deposite than wait 20 mins for cops to get there. if guns were banned, there will be MORE killing cuz the people who get it illegaly will jus get guns 1 way or another. Republican or democrat, they both believe in the second amendment, but to what extent. More gun = more like the wild west. Less gus = more at risk of crazy people who get guns illegaly. NO GUNS= we're f*cked

Blaming firearms deaths on firearms is like blaming DUI deaths are automobiles....but hey, fu.ck personal responsibility, am I right?

you said the gun murder rate not the overall murder rate... if somebody really wants to kill somebody than they will find a way to

yeah i see what your saying man but there is a flaw in your analogy for the simple reason that guns were invented for the sole purpose of killing people with were as cars were not and mostly only kill people through accidents . But hey i might aswell take your analogy further and say lets legalise crack heroin and meth because its not the drugs thats killing people its the people thats themselves with their own stupidity and unlike with guns the person is only harming themselves . Do you think your government will agree to that anytime soon ?

yeah i totally agree . But having a gun just makes it alot easier to kill someone . I mean not everyone has the stomach or the balls to kill someone with their bare hands or even with a knife especially if that somebody was well able to handle themselves and would probably kill you if you failed . But any fool or coward can pull a trigger from a safe distance to kill someone with

@TheCelt: Thats a fair point....except that firearms also protect people from the ill will of others....whereas drugs do not....our constitution has a right to bear arms...not a right to bear drugs lol....I have no issue with people deciding not to own or use a firearm....I just dont want them impending my right TO own one.....and firearms do have many other uses here, we enjoy many type of target practice, hunting, etc...when someone asks me why I enjoy shooting a firearm, I use this analogy....usually use basketball but since your in Ireland Ill change it up a bit....maybe u enjoy taking a soccer ball and seeing how many times u can bend it into the goal in a row....I enjoy seeing how many ten rings I can hit in a row.....same concept.
