Just wondering if anyone here gets into stereo compatitions and if they do if you could give some tips/advice for setting up 2 10in subs to hit harder.

Otis i dont do competitions but i knwo my stereos
1. you want your ground wire atleast 2 sizesthicker than the power wire. 2. Run your speaker wire seperate from the power/ ground wires and your remote antenna wire. Also an in line fuse in the power wire will help save your amps and speakers. 3. Sub placement and direction and what kind of space they are in affect sound and "thumping " heard inside or outside the car. When you set the system up make sure that your main stereo deck has all avaliable amplifications like bass boost or treble turned off, and all other at the 0 or equal settings as well as your amp. initially start tuning the stereo deck itself for intial sound quality, once sounds good that way start tweaking with your amp settings , eventually will have to change the stereo settings but you will find what works with trial and error here. Plus a lightning cap never hurt things at all, it just reduces power drained from the altenator to run the amp and makes it hit harder. These are just the basics and such but if want can message me and can talk further on the placement and what kind of boxes your using as well will affect sound and thump output.

Ahh nice nice, I know some stereo stores around here carry specialty boxes for single cab trucks that have great accustics (SP) but not sure about where your at and most are an affordable price evven though its a specialty item. But well even if wanted keep them in the middle between the seats, you could build your own box, put one facing the front, and one on top but make sure put a cover over them. but well hope ya have luck findin something that works.

My buddy used to build cabnets for a living and he told me if i got the supplies he would help build a custom box to fit them behind the seats

Why dont you just cut a hole in the cab/bed & port the box into the cab? That way you won't have to sacrifice box size. Unless you have shallow mount subs that dont require the air space that you'll need with regular subs. Trying to get into spl with a single cab pickup is gonna be hard work without doing some cutting. You could have the box rhino-lined in, that way you wouldn't have to worry about theft.

120 should be very do able. I run a shocker sig sub in my car, never heard of it look it up lol if it was me id look into some stereo integrity subs very good sq wise an get decently loud. Make your box to specs to 8s would be better then two tens if you don't have room for a proper size box for tens. Also make sure your alt an battery are up to hsndle the extra load.
