Is my vocabulary on life support? (by gaFoster3)
So Im talking with a friend I went to high school with last night on fb. The subject was music. He stated that a girl from our hometown of Riverside CA. Amy Lee of Evanessence (hope I spelled tht right) was this eras top female vocalist. I wrote back and said that i had vaguely heard of the group but that I had no clue who she was and Id never heard her sing. That Jazz and Country were more my scene. He wrote back with Scene in quotations and told me my vocabulary needed a serious modern update and asked me if I lived in a cave. If you have talked to me what do you think. Is my vocabulary on life support or deceased?
@gaFoster3: Evanesense has a female vocalist. Theyre songs are emo but their appearance is gothic
thats what I was saying their female vocalist is from my hometown but I had never heard of her.
Lol well in that situation, yes the word scene sounds oldish or more like ur trying to be "too hip"
@Briteeyes: I had second thoughts after posting this lol but I do tend to be more of a dinosaur. Its just me being me :)
Lmao! I must need an update too, cuz I still use colloquial sayings and words all the time. To me they are timeless.
@YouCantFixStupid: I guess it just comes with the territory. My favorite programs on tv are still the old classics. Andy Griffith, I love Lucy etc. Reality tv aint got nothin on em. And I was raised on big band music from the '40s so Im just a product of my raising and proud of it.
So be who you are and screw anyone that don't like it! That's my philosophy anyhow
