Due to the new outcome of realizeing a regular on these forums was not who they claimed to be, recieved and sent several pics pretending to be someone she was not, which where im from is identity theft and is punishable by law. Soooo i know we need to verify pic to contact members with restrictions, but have u considered requireing a verified pic to participate on the forums? These forums are pretty popular & u meet alot of people on them, verifing a pic would only insure we were not ever fooled again. We had no reason to assume donna was not donna, she was a big part of the forums, i jus dont want myself or anyone else to be made to look like a fool again in the future. I think they should have a verified pic to participate in the forums!!! Is that possible, will u consider it Andres?

I don't see why someone wudnt want to verify their pic in the first place. Unless there WAS alterior motives. Can anyone give me a good reason NOT to verify a pic?

@Brite: This is my reasoning. Your verification pic is seen by more then just the admin, there for you want it to be a good pic. When I'm on the site, chatting sometimes I look like hell and don't feel the need to share that with everyone lol. Also, the pics that I send in are pics that are already on my phone, so it's just hitting send, not going through all the steps to take a special pic just for the site. Some people may not get it, but that's ok with me. I'll get around to it, eventually. And if any one questions that I'm a female, I am more then happy to prove it, by sending my pics to them personally. You can tell by looking at my pics that they are all of the same person (meaning me). Or, they can just ask the guys that I talk to that know for a fact I'm a girl.

I was originally going to do it this way and require users to verify their pics in order to post in the Forums, but then I remembered that Forums depend heavily on user activity, and not everyone has a camera phone or could be bothered to verify their pics, so I ended up deciding not to make it a requirement. Plus, now that the Feedback system is tied into the Forums, it would make it a bit trickier to limit the Forums to members with Verified Pics only. I prefer not forcing anything upon anyone site-wide for now as that can turn off a lot of users, so let's see how things go before we cross that bridge. You guys can always encourage non-verified members to get verified, or simply not reply to anyone who is not verified. Maybe what I can do in the meantime is add the Verification check mark to the Forum posts of users who are Verified. That might make things a bit easier for everyone without yet having to take the drastic step of making a requirement across-the-board.

Do you guys realize that only a very small handful of people will actually see your verification pic? We even say in the instructions not to worry about how you look in the verification pic because very few people will see it. In fact, chances are, you will never interact with the people who end up verifying your pic, and even if you do, they probably won't even remember that they had verified your pic since there are so many pics getting verified all day long. I actually designed the system with this in mind precisely so users wouldn't have to be turned off from verifying their pic if they weren't looking their best for their verification shot. Food for thought.
