Have you ever looked it up, Googled it? What it is, is that they take the first two knuckes off after cutting back the shieve of the toe. Its like your finger, take them off at the digits, and that is what's done to the cat when you do that
Not quite the same thing but I understand your point. Hi btw :))

@JustMeAndYou77:
And a great morning to you also!!! Yeah, it is. I was working to become a vet, that's what I used my G.I. Bill for, schooling. I was in for 4 years. And seen it done a lot. That is exactly what they do. They take off the two knuckles. It's a personal choice, but you might want to look it up, as it also will affect the abilitys of the foot placement, such as their jumping, and their fun time.

There are things u can put on the furniture to discourage the cat google safe alternatives to declawing and my vet who i had for eeyore and horus was againstthis procedure and basicaly described what the the pperson did above and he refused to doit not my idea my dad asked about and found out that it was horrid and changed his mind. There also caps for the claws wejust used paitence and redirection bringing him to post etc this might sound mean but before i would do that to a cat i d rather give it to another home jmo

Please consider an alternative to declawing. The way the procedure is done is they remove the claw by taking the first knuckle off of the toe. Declawing is actually an amputation of the last joint of your cat's "toes". Does not sound like something I would want to go through. It is even illegal in many European countries. Have you looked into claw caps? They are cheap and a lot less invasive to the cat. You can do a quick search on Google, like I did, and find many sources like this one softpaws.com
