@Xxxdonna1: empires fell, but you can still visit greece and persia. In scotland and sweden you can find descendents of the vikings and even in america you can gamble on it's previous owners casinos. The mayans are extinct. I'd say that says alot about how smart they were

@ScottishBlood: i thought that verse referred to the rapture (which for all we know may have already happened an jimmy hoffa was the only one chosen that day) and not the end? I know that's extreme but y'all get the point right? And the thousand year reign? Picture god coming with all his dj equipment to throw the best party ever to find it all gone? Either we believe or we don't, i'll be standing with mishack shadrack and abednego not worrying about the what if's...

@ScottishBlood: just my thinking but the earth may not be destroyed but any way you look at it it is the end of something. It is truly the end of the mayan world. I dont think it will be the end like boom. They also said that the sun would be devoured by a great black wolf... On 122112 our solar system starts to move through the wolf nebula. But like i said just a thought

@Ram318: that very well maybe but not only is leap year a modern concept but we dont even use anything close to the calander the mayans did. The calandar we use now is a roman invention

My thoughts on 12/21/12? Even thought the Mayan calendar did, in fact, stop on December 21st, 2012, I think the whole "end of the world" thing is scare tactics to increase sales of certain items, just like the whole Y2K thing. If you account for Leap Years (which were started by Caesar in Ancient Rome), today would be sometime in September 2013 by now. Nothing catastrophic is going to happen on December 21st.
