Pearl Harbor (by tractorjohn)
Today 71 yrs ago Pearl Habor was attacked by Japan. Then 4 yrs later my dad's next to youngest brother was killed near the Phillippines when his ship was attacked by Japan, he Volunteered to join the Navy when he turned 18 because of Pearl Harbor. I also had a cousin who was a POW & many other kinfolks who were in that war. I was just wondering how many people here have relatives who served during World War Two.
Me, my grandfather was a guerilla war veterans during world war 2. He's still alive and age 92.
Im attending the funeral of my great great uncle today. He served in the navy during WWll.
just wanna say Kudos to all who fought and gave their lives in WW2..
this is a special day of history. Along with my parents anniversary and my nephews 14th birthday.
My grandfathers brotther was in the uk air forces..... He was declared missing in action... May he rip
My grandfather (mother's father) served during WWII. He's passed away now and not from the war. I never got the chance to meet him but my mother talks about him all the time. She described him as a good father and very hardworking man. God bless all the men and women who put their lives on the line this day. They will never be forgotten.
Salute to all the warmen.... For they arent dead. They live within our hearts. Cheers to the raiders of the skies...
Thanks for the input. This day used be one of America's most important dates in history, but I guess it doesn't mean that much anymore.
