What does Santa Claus represent to you? (by Hawkeye58)
To me Santa Claus represents the idea, that if you believe in something, only you can determine it's reality. He symbolizes every dream we refuse to give up on because we know it can become reality.
Well i know for my 2yo hes the guy i give her toys back to when shes naughty, and hes a silly old man in a suit.... i guess for me hes christmas spirit :) i love the whole season, it should be filled with lots of love, family and good food
To me he represents family and reconciliation, where people tend to forgive each other for the sake of peace during this special season. I love everything about christmas, especially when I see the looks on my sons faces when they recieved their gifts, their reactions, their excited cries, and their beautiful smiles, is enough to melt my heart.
Even though "santa" visits my kids every christmas in my opinion he is someone that takes away the whole meaning of CHRISTmas! CHRISTmas isnt only about toys and santa its about the birth of jesus christ!
i dont think santa takes away from the holiday just as i dont think letting my kids participate in christmas celebration takes away from winter solistice its all about love light giving and sharing. .
Well i was raised in a uber christian home and they fell for the whole santa is satan thing so i was told that if i believed in santa i would burn for all eternity in hell but now i know that it my choice what to believe in so to me santa is the comercialized representation of christmas
