I have a question (by butterfly6577)
I am a new single mom i am getting divorced my husband hit me and called me b**** and w**** he wants me to settle out of court now he makes good money but wants me to take $300 a mo for child support instead of what is required by law i really want out of this marriage and fast should i just settle or not?
I wouldn't settle. You and you're kid(s) deserve more. He could be shafting you by settling out of court. Take it to court and get what you deserve, I know it takes longer but it is worth it.
Depends. $300 ain't much at all. Sounds like a lot but it's not. Especially if the child is in pull ups or diapers. But if you really just want to get out quickly then go for it. But i'd ask for a bit more. Like him paying for the child's insurance and health care. Also, when the child is older have him pay for their first vehicle and the car insurance. If you can't have the full child support then add details. Also, keep a copy of the divorce details in safe keeping. Could come in good later on.
well he has the children on health insurance and he will help with school supplies too every year
@countrymusicgirl88: Personally(although I am a man)you should go to court, who can live on 300$ a month. He is taking advantage of you. I wish you luck and let us know how you proogress. :)
I'm in the same boat. After months of going round and round with my ex and we are going to finally settle out of court.
You gotta think into the future though. Cars, tuitons, insurance, clothes. I'd get it all into paper. If not he could come back to say that the $300 is for all that. It's tough being a single parent. Especially when you give it your all and your ex gives none. All i can say is get it all on paper and signed. And good luck:)
