@HardWorkingMom: i believe it is one year old. My dr said i could turn my little one around at his one year well baby checkup a couple of weeks ago but i wont turn him around till he out grows the weight limit on the rear facing...it is just plain safer for them to face the rear as long as possible. I would go by weight not age for this one.

Go to walmart, and right on the display tab stating the features of the forward facing car seat will state the height and weight requirments, age has nothing to do with it it matters on their height and weight,my lil girl is 3yo and already 3'2",and shes at her proper wight for that height show shes in a booster seat

Every state is different.....sometimes your states homepage will give that info.....here in ohio they turn forward when hey r 6 months or the feet and head meet a certain height and length....i turned riah around at 6 monthe her legs were cramped up and her head came up and over the infant seat...i upgraded and turned her......no booster or booster the child needs to be 4 or over i think 44 pnds and the front seat u gotta be older than 9......u can call your local health dept and they can also gove u all the info or wic!! ;)
