Ok, me and a female friend are on our way to the mall to hang out. We are both like brother and sister and I don't like her like that. She however has owned up to liking me that way. Anyways, I invited her to come along so I wouldn't have to go alone. Is it considered a date? (yes, we are both single)

My opinion is yes...maybe not a romantic date. But if u asked her to come hang out and go with u some place, that is a date. And if she has feelings for u then it is more so a date in her eyes. jmo tho....i had a friend i liked spending time with and we had this situation as well, and yes we were considered to be dating in the public's eye

After feelings are announced i think it puts a whole new spin on what u can and can not do as "friends" its misleading to the one with feelings

Dude single men don't ask single women out and be just friends. If you had feelings for her and she asked you out she would be wrong. Her with feelings and you asking her out you are wrong. Stop acting like a goodie too shoes. You know what your doing. Yes you asked your friend on a DATE. How much time do you spend together is the next question?

Me and her have hung out since we were in 1st grade @Max. We hangout almost all the time and I ride on the semi with her dad when he hauls crushed peanut hulls across state. She is like a sister to me and nothing more. She understands and respects that we are just friends. Just had someone tell me "you are on a date with her" I don't see how. Just wanted other opinions.

And btw, I asked her does she feel like I asked her on a date and she said no, just feels like we're chilling out.
