Is there such a thing as a white lie ? (by Lola381)
Jus like people, it doesnt matter what color it is, a lie is a lie...a person is a person...color dont matter
(37 / M-F / Nigeria)white lies in my own understanding.. is those lies you could just tell to protect your personal interest or yourself without hurting anyone...
but i was taught this at law school... so it's a law term...

a white lie is one u tell to not hurt someones feelings like when your daugher makes u pancakes and u eat them n tell them they are wonderful when they r not
Wow, very interesting post! No one really talks about those little lies that passes by.lol YESSS.... I do think there's such a thing. Leaving out the truth when explaining somthing or only telling portions of the truth. Dunno why these smaller versions of lies are considered white lies though.
@JustMeAndYou77: I, too, was interested with the term "white lie", so I had a talk with Mr.Google lol...seems its similar to white magic and black magic...an ancient term supposedly meaning a lie w/o evil intent...
