What are some weird things Americans do that are considered weird or taboo in your country? (by Sparky)
@WalkSoftly: hmm. What do you think Rich? Should we wait a few more minutes to see if anyone wants to chime in, or do you want me to play the devil's advocate and voice the opposing opinion?
@WalkSoftly: okey dokey lol. I've heard all the opposing views so often I can quote them as easily as I can the 2nd amendment lol. What the hell...maybe we can get some of these deadheads to wake up & join in lol.
@1honestman: I cant do it though....I start puking when even thinking about liberal rhetoric....much less actually speaking it

@WalkSoftly: eh, no problem. I've been arguing with the same woman now for over 30 years. I've learned how to switch sides lol. Are ya ready?
well the vast majority of people in prison arent in for murder and are in fact serving sentences of 5 years or less , so if they can get an education or better themselves with a trade that might stop them re offending when they get out then that can only be a good thing , even the majority of murderers over here will get out eventually , some people dont agree with that but thats just the way it is , so even they need some sort of qualification to fall back on when they are released , but i suspect that most lifers just take up courses to pass the time ,
p.s if you think that irish prisoners have it easy then you are right , check this story out lol
A live budgie smuggled into a prison inside a woman’s body has been confiscated in Ireland.
The bird, belonging to a long term prisoner, was taken during a crack down it emerged today.
It is believed it had been smuggled into the prison by a female visitor who concealed the bird in her body.
Other more common items taken during the check of inmates’ cells in Ireland’s maximum security prison Portlaoise include mobile phones, drugs and homemade alcohol.
The Irish Prison Service said the haul was found by prison officers who searched the cells of some of the country’s most notorious criminals.
At least eight smuggled mobile phones, three Sim cards, around 150 tablets, including ecstasy, a significant quantity of powdered drugs, a large amount of hooch, and 30 syringes were seized.
The search was sparked after armed robber John Daly telephoned RTE radio’s Liveline programme from an illegal mobile phone from his cell last week.
His phone was seized by staff during the programme and the inmate has since been transferred to Cork Prison.
A retired Garda superintendent and a senior prison service official have been appointed by Justice Minister Michael McDowell to head a special investigation into last week’s security breach.
However, opposition parties attacked the minister for ordering the search just weeks before a general election, to be held on May 24.
‘The budgie discovered in Portlaoise prison is the least of Michael McDowell’s worries as jailbirds have been running rings around Michael McDowell for years now, smuggling drugs and mobile phones into prison in ever more ingenious ways,’ said Fine Gael justice spokesman Jim O’Keeffe.

Well atleast we don't tell our young soldiers "if ya strap this bomb to yourself run into that building and when you die 20 virgins will be waiting for ya"
@WalkSoftly: alrighty then. The opposing view always starts with a literal interpretation of the wording of the amendment itself. They focus on the word "militia" almost to the exclusion of the rest of them. So, their viewpoint is that the 2nd amendment is not a right guaranteed to the individual, but rather to our military and/or law enforcement. After all, it is the military's job to fight our wars, & not John Q Public's.
@TheCelt: Gotdam! Thats the difference between Ireland and here.....if prisons were like that here, we'd have some people killing just to get INTO prison
