At your age you would be deriving the world of what you have to offer you wont even know what that is yet lets wait and see

Its the only sure-fire way of going to hellfire and leaving all your friends and family in terrible grief.

Hence why I put I would of said yes 2 years ago. And why I actually told op that it isn't a good idea and it isn't dealing with your problems. No one knows what goes on in peoples lives or minds and to be so abrupt towards someone who maybe suicidal isn't very empathetic. None of you know anything about where I was two years ago in my life and how much work I've had to do to get better so I don't appreciate being talked to like that. In my life now I know its not the answer and I'd advise anyone that there is always help out there to find because I did. What I think is wrong is for people to not be more understanding towards the subject. I want to one day help young people and older teens with depression, self harm and suicidal thoughts. If I started the psychology course next year, it would take 4 years. But like I said its a subject I feel strongly about.

Well I started self harming as a young girl of 12 and it went on til about 18 months ago. I hid it quite well and only a few people knew. I wish my parents had gotten me help when they found out I was doing it at 14, instead I got punished and told to get over it and they didn't bother talking about it again. I do not wish for any young people to feel as lost as I did. I know how important it is to talk about it.

Everyone has low times. Its not unusual to think its better to die, but what if its not? What if its so much worse. Its not like u can take it back. Better to try and make the most of the life u have.

If a person is mentally unwell than they won't be thinking rationally. When someone is at complete rock bottom, they can't see beyond that point and selfishly they are not thinking about the future or anyone else. But I think when someone is at that point, they have only one way to go and that's up towards getting better and regaining their mental health back. I feel sorry for the people who couldn't get the opportunity to get the right help and end up having break downs they never recover from.

I can talk about it now as its the longest time I've not done it since I started. But its such a taboo subject and some people just don't get it, and what do a lot of people do when they don't fully understand something, they say its wrong. I'm completely open about the subject because I want to raise awareness but I will not tell people the bad things that have happened in my life because I don't want anyones sympathy. I've finally gotten past the majority of it all so I don't need to bring it all up. But I am open to the discussion about self harm and depression. My past is just that, past. :)
