My (26M) girlfriend (25F) only works once a week and doesn't want to work more than that?

Together 9 years, just bought a house in July. My gf is a nurse and works once a week. She doesn't want to work more than that because it's emotionally and physically draining. I get it. But our mortgage is $3500+ other bills and I don't make that much to do it alone - or I do, but barely. She picked up shifts when we first bought the house but since then hasn't. I've talked to her about it but she won't...and a lot of her money goes to makeup and clothes.
I'm trying to save up for a ring at the moment but it's hard. Is counseling the only answer? I don't know what else to do.
