(M 21) His gaming rage makes me (F 21) not want to be in his presence

Theres nothing wrong with playing video games to wind down from life or to stimulate your brain; I do it too.
I have a pretty stressful life so when I can?t see him I look forward to FaceTiming him at the end of the night. But his level of raging, cursing and whining over the game stresses me out so much that I don?t want to FaceTime him anymore.
I can easily be overly stimulated by sound and he knows this, so its 10x more annoying.
When I bring up his gamer rage he tells me its something all men do and I just have to accept it. He also said his gamer rage was way worse in high school and got better but its still so annoying and stressful to me.
I tell him to call me when hes not playing his games so I dont hear his rage but sometimes he still calls me and I have to put up with it. If I ask him to mute himself he sometimes whines.
I feel like he was at a stage of willing to change then it turned into ?well deal with it; its a normal male behavior?
Our relationship is pretty perfect but this one thing is constantly testing my patience with him and making me not want to be in his presence.
I can?t envision myself in the future coming home from work and hearing his gamer rage every night, Jesus Id shoot myself. Sometimes his rage scares me; he doesn?t get violent but his yelling and anger is scary.
What should I say/do going forward with him?
TL;DR My boyfriend rages at video games a lot and it makes me not want to talk to him
