A few days before V-Day my (35F) boyfriend (36M) told me he?s not in love with me nor does he love me.

Dating for nearly a year. A few days before Valentine?s Day s.o. reveals he doesn?t love me ?yet?, and says he ?isn?t in love with me? because he believes that falling in love means marriage and therefore ?we?re not there yet.? Instead he claims that ?he cares for me a lot.?
Anybody going through the same thing? Or how did you get past the hurt? His statements made me lose confidence in the relationship and I feel like he just thinks of me as a reliable sexual partner that he cares for just like a friend.
TL;DR!: Bf says he doesn?t love me and isn?t in love with me, I?m confused and hurt.
