Rules and tips on how to proceed if you find the Fountain of Youth (1)
Congratulations, you did it ! After a long journey, wouldn?t it be so relaxing to sit back and enjoy the view ? Smell the fresh air and let the sun caress you skin ? To lie down and sleep for centuries !? Your research has come to fruition, we can all agree on that. You found the Fountain of Youth. You did put a huge amount of efforts into your work and now that you?ve made your way here, wouldn?t it be absolutely rewarding to jump head first into your ?early retirement??
I am going to stop you right away. Let?s not make bad decisions out of strong feelings now. There is very important things you need to hear first. You spent what felt like a lifetime traveling the world so a few more seconds of your time is not going to kill you.
? Well it?s not like you?re going to die off so soon anyway?
Here?s a few tips and important rules on how to proceed if you actually find yourself wandering around that magic pool. It is necessary that you follow these :
-Clear off your mind. Get some rest. Meditate for a few minutes, you will need to be at peace with yourself. Do you really want to be immortal? Or did you just wanted to escape your mundane routine and travel ? There is a nice bed of green leafs next to the Fountain if you need to lie down and think about it.
-Clean yourself up. Not in the Fountain though, there is a river five minutes away. Wash your feet, hands and armpit. Be considerate of the next lucky traveler.
-Take off your clothes if you decide to plunge in. One reason is because you don?t wanna wet your underwear and socks but also because the Foutain will make you one with Eternity, your true self. You wanna be confortable, trust me. You don?t want your clothes to be in the way and I believe fashion changes a lot over the course of years, right? You don?t wanna walk around in outdated leather boots and that old cowbow hat after a century... Do you?
-Don?t jump in. You will splash everything within a five feet radius and you will hurt your head. It is a sacred place. Have some respect. Don?t pee in it also.
Now that we have covered some ?midly? important rules, let?s proceed on the most important, golden step. Most people (not to say everyone) would either drink or wash themselves (read the rules !) in the Foutain. That?s good if you wanna heal internal or outside wounds but that?s not how you become... well, immortal. It is kind of complicated but to put it simply :
You have to drown yourself in the Fountain
I know. I know. No, wait come back ! Do you wanna be immortal or not ?
There you go. Good boy. Now listen. Death is a very very (very) small price to pay. Trust me. There is beings that would sacrifice gazillions just to be at your place right now. Beings that live very long life but will never be immortal. Beings that sacrifice their world?s resources to travel to your planet in order harvest the Fountain, only to become extinct in the middle of their journey. Earth is the only known place in the Known Universe to provide Eternity for such futility. What makes your home planet safe from invasions nowadays is that; this place has become sacred and even civilizations from higher planes of existence seem to respect that. Consider yourself lucky to be born here, you are a child of Earth.
Now back to my explanation. I?m going to say it again : you have to drown in the Fountain in order to become essentially immortal. That?s how it works. You have to be alive, being aware of your own existence and being able to make your own choices. Furthermore, you don?t really die. I mean you do ?die? but not really.
What do you mean you don?t understand? Come on.. Even Ponce de Le?n understood it and this guy was... high.
When you willingly abandon your life in the hands of the Fountain, your soul doesn?t go to the Afterlife, it stays here until Death herself comes to pick you up. The very concept of the Universe works on the fragile balance that is Life and Death. When she actually shows up and she?s obviously not happy about it, the Fountain removes the very concept of Life out of your soul (sick move) so Death cannot throw you to the other side. And then back you go into your vessel. How cool is that. You?re not dead and not alive either, you cheated the system. You cannot perish from all causes because you simply don?t exist anymore in the eyes of the Universe but somehow you?re still here. As simple as that !
Now, are you ready to die? Because there is a hell load of things to cover so make your choice. No rush though. Becoming immortal is just the first step, this is what comes after that is important.
