ELI5: What is happening when you hear or see something for the first time and suddenly hear or see it everywhere?
For instance; I heard the phrase "bad actors" on a podcast the other day and all of a sudden I'm hearing it on everything. The news, almost every other podcast I listen to, Dating.mobi posts. Just. Everything. This has happened to me before with perogies. Is it just selective hearing or is the phrase just all over the place all of a sudden??
