Married ladies of Dating.mobi who said "No" to the dress/party - did you ever regret? Would you do it differently now?
[OMG, RIP my inbox, you ladies are amazing. Much love!]
Long story short, I hate weddings, I've participated at way too many (as a guest and as a photographer) and I can't stand the hypocrisy and kitsch around them. The whole "feel like a princess for one day" and "the best day in a woman's life" and all that jazz. I consider it has become something false, that one only wishes to brag about, instead of being something more intimate and truthful to the couple. Also, have you seen the numbers it can add up to? One can use that money and go see the world, instead of having just a huge party.
But. I've said Yes to my man, getting married this autumn. We're only signing the papers, and we only invited family. My dress is simple, green, lovely.
Women of Dating.mobi who have not worn a white princess dress and have not had the big party: did you ever regret it? What was your wedding like? Will I regret not have the classic wedding pics 10-20 years from now, to show my/our children how our "big day" was?
