My [25F] childhood best friend [25M] was diagnosed with cancer and he doesn’t have much longer to live. Is it a bad idea to tell him my feelings?

He was diagnosed with cancer one month ago, and it's bad. He doesn’t have much longer left to live. we've been friends since we were little and went to school together for all our childhood, so he's been a big part of my life.
I've always had feelings for him, but I've been too afraid to say anything. This is my last chance, but I think it might be too much for him to handle because he's going through a lot right now.
Is a bad idea to tell him my feelings?

tl;dr: My best friend was diagnosed with cancer, and he doesn’t have much time left before he passes away.
