How would you feel if the brother or father of a woman you were dating gave you a "warning"?

We talked about this in one of my college classes. How would you feel if you were dating a woman and her brother said something along the lines of "lay hands on my sister and I am coming after you"? Would you consider it a threat?

At this point in my life, I'd laugh at them

I know i read a comment to my son the other night concerning his fiancé, saying hurt her and i'm coming after you...ahemmm Mama didn't take it to kindly. I wanted to comment what a good boy and an even amazing man he was, but i knew not to get in it. They both commented to said poster tho.

I'd appreciate that he cares for his daughter. I wouldn't be intimidated. Plus, when he got to know me, he'd see the size of my gun collection and make a mental note of it.
Then, we'd go shooting (I can knock the wings off a Nat @ 100 yards)
But, by that time he'd know well enough that I can't hurt a female, and he'd just be happy that she'll be protected.
