The Feel of the Day (unfinished) (by alynn)

The day feels far too long leaning on this giant brick wall. / Expectation to see the sun at noontime, but eventide feels nearer. // It's the sun, dim and dreary. It lingers clearly on block buildings, glimmering rays through blocked style windows holding bottled up people. // I covet the scent of wild country flowers. The ones waiting outside Grandma's house, down south in springtime; strong and delicately sweet with purity. // We had just laid pretty in the shade / Of the shimmering weeping willow / And drank lemonade. / Our glasses were stained with what looked like steam. // A smile stretched wide across my face, as gray breezes embraced me...
