Since the dawn of time
Men have found it easier to prove themselves
In battle, working, protecting their families
They are protectors, defenders.
But, for women things are different
We have too few ways to prove our worth
in ways that matter to society
We are trapped, suffocated.
In the heart of every woman
is a courage to match that of every man
We must stand up and find ways
to show how capable we can be
We are strong, we are proud, we are courageous.
Lets stand up and forge our path in life
We dont have to be second best
We are i.n.d.e.p.e.n.d.e.n.t

@Nzsweetie24: very apt to the times of which you were writing, and yet still apt in many ways today. The world is poorer for it. Good poem!
