How many people here have been judged because of their tattoos? I went into a convieniant store last night wearing a tank top and a pair or gym shorts showing my tattoos and a guy walked in behind me looking like a meth head ready to steal something and guess who got followed around the store? ME! It woulda been fine if i didnt hear the lady whisper to a co worker "watch this guy, he has tattoos." I MEAN WTF?
I don't have a tattoo and though now , most people recognized tattoos as " body arts " , but during the 80's & 90's those who have tattoos are either ex convicts or a member of a dangerous fraternities ( to my knowledge / in the planet where I came from ) hence having a tattoo before brings an impression of a " bad guy/ girl " image ..
it just really ****** me off that she said what she said. I looked at her, said nothing, and left the store. Im debating on whether or not i should go in and talk to her supervisor, who happens to be a friend of mine, about it the situation.
Perhaps she is just a close - minded , middle - aged woman who was brought up with the thoughts of having a tattoo is a " bad guy "?
Perhaps , if you did asked her of why she said such , then her answer can give you an explanation of her attitude towards " tattoo "
Nevertheless , I do understand your sentiment ...
