Should Single People Be Allowed To Adopt? (by JustMeAndYou77)
This does not pertain to those with different sexual lifestyles. That's another thread lol This pertain to the average heterosexual single persons. If yes or no, why? And, if yes, should there be a stat requirement...age, income, place of residence etc?
singles yes.... Age i think should be over 25 income should be enough to take care of a kid.... And a house thats been inspected kinda like when you adopt a pet

I think if you can afford to adopt a child and take care of that child in a safe healthy enviroment because you haven't found that one person to marry yet doesn't mean you should be denied a child, you should be able to regardless if you are single or not
I want to adopt a child sooooo bad. My best friends sister was on drugs preg with her 3rd child, i was gonna adopt it, had all the papers drawn up, we compromised on names, i set up doctor appt's...everything! Jus to find out a few months later the druged out ***** was lying. My heart was ripped outta my chest
Its not ideal but i dont see why not just as long as they are able to financially to support the kid and they pass all the required safety checks .
Yes,i think single people should be able to adopt.Im a single parent not much diffrence.Except not just base it on income, age, and where they live.Dont forget a very important factor. Background check, work history, credit check, and psycology test.
Absolutely..ive known some single parents who have raised some amazing kids......and couples who have had awful awful parenting skills.....as far as age they would have to be mature and responsible.....ive seen adults in their 30's and older that are so irrisponsible they couldnt take care of a beta.......and they dont have to be rich but should make enough money to afford the childs needs........and yes they should be sane and without a criminal record!!
i belive single people should be able to adopt if they meet the right requirements
I agree, you should go through all the same things as a family would: interviews, home inspections, background checks and all. Being single doesn't make you less able to care for a child, look at all the single parents out there.
Thanks for the comments everyone there are people who probably cant make or bare their own child and these posts give great ideas on how a single responsible adult can become a parent and benefit society as well. I personally think a single person should also be able to foster many children but only adopt 1 unless they marry...then more. What's your thought?
